Yea, although it seems like everythings starting to come to light now, noises, shorted wire that required a hefty tow bill exct, I can't complain, I'd still trust my truck on any long trip. Hope its a easy simple fix for yaa...
Well the ol girl is running again. My system was over full. I bled a little off and now while ideling the low pressure is sitting on 40 and the high is rite around 230 and it hasn't shut off at all.
well the problem hasnt been fixed still. its still cutting off. i finally rounded up a set of feeler gauges to check the air gap. pop was on the money with it. i have .064 gap. if its not raining i will fix that tomorrow. if i keep fixing all this stuff i mite just have to keep the ol girl..
There's nothing particular in the AC system (except the vacuum pump for the outlets) that is unique in the PSDs. It works the same as in the rest of the Fords of the same vintage.
Go to the HVAC sub-forum and read the FAQs to get started.
Never thought about going there projectSHO89, thanks. Good luck tomorrow BJ, my compressor started working again, cycling again, we'll see soon whats up after these other issues I have get fixed.
pops was on it. the air gap is twice the size of what it should be
On mine there was a little spacer in there that I remove and brought it back into spec. I didn't have to do any shimming. Pretty easy to do if you follow Pop's directions.

just to make sure i read it rite that spacer is inside the clutch where the shaft goes in?
ok thanks. is there more than 1 shim in there? if its not raining in the morning this will be what i do after i drop the kids off at school
Mine just had one. Depending on the thickness of the shim you remove you may need to shim it. Just follow Pop's directions and you should be good to go.
