Ok, so the engine in my '77 is from a '70 Lincoln. DOVE-A Block and heads. It is stock as far as I know. I plan to rebuild in the near future and make a few basic upgrades for street performance (cam, intake, etc.)
The stock C6 tranny needs a rebuild and that is planned for this summer, but I have an opportunity to buy an almost new TCI street/strip C6 for $500 with TC and flywheel. The TQ is 2500 stall
My question is this; given that the rest of my gear is stock (engine and 9" rear) would this be an upgrade or would I just be better off to go with a stock rebuild and stock converter? Oh, and my 9" ratio is 2.75, so nothing too impressive there. probably wont get around to upgrading that for some time.
So, good investment or not? Just asking because there are other things I could be spending the $500 on, but I know that this tranny retails for quite a bit more than that.
