starting and stalling

starting and stalling

so i found in my 86 f250 6.9 4 sp 4x4, my fuel pump was leaking into the motor.i fixed that.it WAS starting and instantly stallying.now its stays running for about 6 seconds then stalls again.i suspect more air in the lines?? im sure im not going to get the injectors off without braking them or snaping lines.can i bleed them from the plugs on the end of the rails?and if theres any other solutions to the starting and staling please let me kno.

It may just be the return lines O-rings and plastic T's on the injectors them self.

Half hour job and no more stalling.

just another question.a guy from another diesel forum told me to hold in the valve stem on the fuel filter and crank the motor untill pure fuel comes out.will this work to bleed the hole system???????

i was leaning towards that . how much is a oring kit usually??

10-15$. And cut your own lengths of hose.



That valve will bleed the air out from the tank to the filter, you still have air pass that, in the Injector Pump and injectors them self.


The air will bleed it's self out while cranking, but depending, it can take a while.



WARNING! Do NOT crank more than 20 seconds a shot, your starter will thank you.


20 secs cranking, 2 full minutes cool down time.
