Exclamation Glove box compartment

My 1973 ford is completely missing the original glovebox, and I can easily find replacements.
But I thought I had read somewhere on here, a guy said he was making his own from sheetmetal, does anyone know if there is someone, somewhere who sells metal gloveboxes?
Also, is a paper box able to safely hold a cd changer?

I made a sheetmetal glove box for mine, as the cardboard glove box had seen better days. I don't know if anyone making these to order though.

There's a nice thread about making a sheetmetal one, using the cardboard original for a pattern. You may be like me and don't have the original. In that case, LMC sells a cardboard one that seems to resemble the original, and Bronco Graveyard sells a one piece molded plastic one. The cardboard one is around $18 plus S&H, and the plastic one is around $25 plus S&H. I'm thinking I like the plastic one.

Excellent info,
The plastic box is looking pretty good,
I just keep thinking back to metal shop in high school, we had to make a tool tray using brass rivets and the huge sheet metal folder.
If only I still had access to those tools, I keep imagining a perfect fit, steel box, lined with nice brass rivets and a few well placed creases to keep strength.
But that plastic box looks worlds better than a paper and staples box

I have got to say, though, the paper box is plenty sturdy. I've replaced a few and removed/reinstalled a few more, and each time was surprised that they do the job just fine.

my grandpa got tired of having such little space in his glove box, so he took it out and cut out a bigger cardboard box, duct taped it in, worked great think it was even thicker board

I found my stock cardboard liner ripped out and shoved way down behind the dash. I dug it out and found two 1977 owners manuals in it. They were still in the original Ford bag as well. And there was also an Auto Zone U-joint receipt from 1991.
