MPG in your Ford 460.
I'm looking to get an idea of what you are getting MPG wise. It would be hekpful for you to list weight, mods, gearing, speed habits etc. For all the rest who get 25 in a 300 straight 6 you can brag in the posts just please don't skew the poll as it is for 460 only. Also if you have a fi ford 460 please list that up as I found a truck without that I may pull for everything if it gets like 15 and my 460 gets 6 lol.
83 F250, completely stock 460. Single cab, long bed, T19 with 3.55 gears, and if I had to throw a dart at a dartboard I'd say this thing has averaged 9mpg over the last year.
Oh yeah, it's a 4x4.
Here's my report on Fuelly: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/elucidus/f250-pickup

Nice deal. Both aren't too terrible bad. My pipe dream is 15 unloaded (but with all my weight and tires and lift, not likely). My next range for no budgetary change (almost) would be 12-13 mpgs, I would be stoked if I got 10. I would trade the 3 mpgs for the benefits.
Also what I forgot to add is with my Dodge insurance is like $85 a month, for just liability. I could upgrade to comp and collission on my ford for the same premium, or I could run liability of the same flavor for $40.
So I look at it like this
Dodge $85 a month fixed cost
Lets say 1000 a month at 13mpgs say 77 gallons of fuel at $3.50 a gallon roughly $270 a month in fuel + 85=$355 a month for running my truck not including maintenance.
Ford $40 a month fixed
1000 a month at 10 mpgs 100 gallons a month $350 a month in fuel. $395 a month in fuel. Hell I don't mind an extra $40 a month for 4x4, lights, winches, tool boxes, super cab, lift all that I gain lol.

1986 F-350, 4x4, crew cab, stock 460, Edelbrock carb, C6, 3.55 geared, 7.5' plow hanging off the front, truck was still a dually at the point I figured out my mpg. Only drove it in town, 45 mph tops, and got around 6-8 mpg.
86 F350 CC Duallie, 2wd C6, 3:55's. Stock size tires at proper pressures/ Gets 10 any way you shoot it. All emissions intact, save a BB in the vacum line to the EGR and the flame arrestor knocked out of the stock exhaust.

I'm going to mention my 87 as it's basically the same as my 86. 87 F250 S Cab 2 wh drive 460 4V Holley single ex., C6, 4.10 gears, 8' bed. Last trip: truck loaded, pulling trailer with mini-back hoe on it. 600 miles hills and I81 averaged 6.7 mpg.
Except eh 6.9 doesn't have the power, they are about $4000 to rebuild or so give or take. Everything is more expensive. I can buy a lot of gas for the difference. If I get any diesel it will be a 12v Cummins motor with a 6speed dodge transmission.
I'll assume we're talking highway since that's what people usually compare and it's easiest to measure with fewest variables. Not sure my around town MPG but it's probably not great since I only drive 2 miles to work and the choke is on most of the time for my daily commute.
My '86 F-350 gets 12.5 MPG highway at ~75 MPH (I put 12). 4" lift on 35x12.5 with 3.55:1 gear and ZF5. It's a mild build with a bit over 400 HP and around 550 ft/lbs. Truck weighs about 6000 lbs and I get 10 MPG towing my boat (probably pushing around 5000 lbs, never weighed it) at 65-70.
You said 460 but didn't say truck.... For comparison sake the stockish 460 in my Galaxie gets 17 MPG highway at 75-80 MPH. Straight up timing chain, ported D3VE heads, long tubes low compression (8-8.5:1, Lincoln motor), 3:1 gears w/ C6, 750 VS Holley. With a build similar to my truck I'd expect to be getting closer to 20 MPG and with overdrive (want to do a TKO600 or T56) I'd expect to be over 20 MPG.
