Greetings And Hello To All : My name is Fred and I recently purchased a 1960 Ford F250.It only has 55 k on it and is solid and straight. The only bad thing is the owner before the guy I bought if from cut /hacked a section of the dash out for a CD player . It is from Washington state and due to arrive soon in Ohio. I have only two questions for now .I did a search and could not find the answers. Were electric wipes an option ,and can I install electric wipes from a truck of the same year that had them? What duel break master cylinder will fit so I can convert it from the current single master cylinder ?
Here are some photos of the truck. The ones with the Penske truck are of the lady(Jackie) that is transporting it for me .She lives to drive long distance ) Flickr: Photos & Video from 1954 KM
Thanks In Adnvance......Good To Be Here ..........Fred
Welcome to FTE It's always good to have another F250 owner around.
Sorry I can't help you with your questions, I'm not up on the 60. I'm sure some smart people will be along shortly.
By the way I can't see any pictures when I click on the link. It says you don't have anything available to me. We love pictures.
My 1960 F250 has factory electric wipers. I know a few years older had vacuum, but thought all 1960's had electric. Maybe someone else will add more to this.
I have picked up a a power master cylinder unit from eBay which has bolt on adapter bracket and lever. It looks like a good unit, but I have not installed it yet. You would then add a proportioning valve based on drum-drum, disc-drum, or disc-disc which is what I am going to have.
My dash has the same problem, it was hacked a bit. I don't want to return to stock, but a good aftermarket radio and have not figured how to fix it yet. Been looking for a metal single DIN radio mount bracket and have not found anything yet.
