can someone give some insight as to making a picture into an avatar that I can put on here.....I have tried paint and several resizers online but something isn't quite right...
I have never made one before..the couple that I made with the resizers turn my pics into a dot..
I often thought the websites that you posted them on did the resizing for you. I very rarely ran into any issues unless I tried using an animated avatar.
Another thing you can try is save the intended avatar as a gif or use a lower resolution option when you save the picture.
thanks for the replies...
I tried to upload the pics to here but it said the file /pic was too big....
i thought /or hoped the site would automaticlly fix or resize it...
never thought about trying picassa..I have an older version..I'll try that ..
Used "paint" several times and the pics were all distorted....
i did try a couple online resizers and the picture was the size of the end of a ball point pen???
I'll try changing it to a gif file first, that makes sense..
tried to save the picture as a gif file ..then tried to upload the file to here...no good...i think that the file is too large....maybe I'll take another pic of the truck and use a lower quality resolution..? file after it was save as a gif is 5.82 mb
For what it's worth, your maximum size for an avatar is 100 x 100 and / or 32kb. So, there's no way that 5.82mb image is going to work. Is it an animated pic (moving) or something? Just trying to figure out why the file size is so large if it's just a picture of a truck.
If you've got Microsoft Office Picture Manager, you can open picture files with it and you have the option of resizing as well.
