Resizing a JPEG for a Avatar

OK team, I've got a digital camera, and many great photos. All I need now is to be able to resize my pics so they fit the size limits. Any idea how to do that? The avatar I have now is something like 1/100th of the original photo, which wont work well for most of my pics.

Use the re-sizing tool in the program that shows your image.

If you can't just send it to me via e-mail

77, I use a viewing/editing program free for download called Irfanview
http://www.irfanview.com/
to resize/resample is a simple edit feature, you type in 60 pixels and "presto"

I used Adobe Photoshop elements 2 to make mine. I just used the option to "save for web". Made it the right size.

If you have XP go here and scroll down to "Image Resizer"

Works great for me.

OK step #1

#1 Right click and select "Open with". Should give you a list of all of your photo editing software. Select "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"
#2 Top menu, 4th over from the left click on the "Picture" menu
#3 Select the "Resize" option. Down towards the bottome of the picture menu
#4 Resize menu is on the right. I usually just shrink it down using the percentage option. I dont remember what FTE limits are but once you get those you can experiment with % or just type in the new "Custom Height" (3rd down) pixel settings.

Looks like we need to place a TOP THREAD with instructions for this procedure for the various Photo Editing software out there. I also use Adobe 2.0, Unlead 4.0, Picture it 7.0, Microsoft paint, Adobe 7.1.01 to name a few.

If people have the program for showing images/picture on their computer the help section section of that program has the instructions for re-sizing images.

I have 5 programs that I can edit pics with.

Kinda a creepy looking guy. I like the puppy but I wish I could program it to have a little fun. I share a computer at work and it would be nice to have it, well do its business. Good for a few laughs.

thanks for all the help.

mlb4966 I must have a different version of office, since i don't have that option on mine.

Anyway, as I'm sure you can see, I've got a new avatar. I finally found a program on my home computer that can do this.

Hope y'all like the pic, I took it this summer on vacation in Alaska.

I need to change mine. Tire of the tanker in the fog photo. Glad to see you located an application that worked. The office version that I have is 2003.
