It is a 95 f-150 frame that the guy strate axled and put a c6 np205 combo in behind the strate 6. the 95 body was rough(the 78 is to but i just wanted the 78) so i swapped on my 78 body.
The 78 did not have a bed to go with it, and as hard and expensive it is to find a good one. I had to come up with my own solution.
This is what i hope to be at in a couple weeks.
I posted here because it involves the 90s body style bed.
ya I waited 2 months before doing this because i was looking for a good one for a good price, and i couldnt find one period. I found a couple that were farther then i wanted to drive but they were not even in that great of condition.
I was leaning towards a flat bed any way when i first started the project. Later on down the line if i find a good one i might swap it on, because i will have less then a 100 into this one when i am done buying the metal.
I have only one question.....Does your area require you to have wheel covers? Here we cant have an open tire like you will with the sides being inside the tires
I am going to by some metal and make the rest of the sides, but......
I live in florida and they dont pay attention to any stuff like that especially in my town, but yes i am going to build the sides over any way cuz it looks kind of stupid like that to me.
My dad did that back in 1987 with his 1981 Dodge pickup. I was 16 and turned a corner way to fast and hit a stop sign, fire hydrant and a fence. The bolt on the fire hydrant was like a can opener from the back of the door to the tail light. I drove like a nut with that suicide **** on the steering wheel. We did not have the money to fix it so he got the bed walls cut off.
I like the 78 on the 93 undercarriage though, I've been thinking on putting my 1962 F-250 4x4 body onto a 1991 F-250 4x4 undercarriage and making a 4 door out of the 62 then putting either a early model Bronco or Jeep body on the 62 undercarriage
