You obviously don't live in NJ! Once they failed a car of mine because the passenger side view mirror was cracked. I argued that this mirror isn't even required by law and despite the crack was still useable, but their response was EVERYTHING the car came with must be in working order. Unless something here has changed, any dash warning light will result in a failure
As a last resort you could remove the bulb in the dash=no more flashing and a successful inspection.
Save your time, Expeditions don't have the connector.
Figures.... So it sounds like my options are pay the dealer to clear the fault, or wait and hope i hit the magical 250 key cycles before my inspection is due.
I guess i'll give it a couple weeks and see if it clears itself. when i surf fish i do start the truck several times to move it away from incoming tide, or closer during outgoing, so i should be able to hit the key cycles without too much extra effort
Did you even read my recommendation above? You're probably screwing around worrying about something that's not relevant...
I did, but i have neither the time or desire to go through all the trouble to go there, wait my turn, and fail for something avoidable. I've looked up the regs, and it's just not clear, I'll probably pass, but if i fail it's just a PITA i don't need
