Problem with moonroof

I tried posting this in the Super Duty forum but didn't get any bites so I thought I would try it here.

2011 F-350 Crew Cab with the moonroof. Today when I closed it, there was a pretty solid "pop" from the right hand side and the glass moved a little odd. I opened it and closed it again and the same thing. At first I was thinking the glass was catching on the sheet metal as the back of the moon roof was lifting up to create the seal. However I watched it close as I was outside the truck looking at the roof, and that definitely wasn't the case, plenty of clearance. I have pretty much decided it is something that is possibly binding in the mechanism itself, but I can't visually see what it could be. Anybody had this happen and knowhow to fix it? It's about an hour and a half round trip to my dealer, so I don't want to waste the time if it's an easy fix.

Ice? or it maybe it's out of adjustment in this case the headliner will have to be R/I to aline the moon roof assemble, this takes some time

Take it in for diagnosis

At the very least, have a service tech look it over and note the issue. Perhaps a bit of lube will fix it. Otherwise, why wait for it to fail at an inconvenient time.

I don't think he was waiting for it to fail based on his comments...

No ice here, it's been at or near 70 for quite a few days (finally, no more snow and ice!!).

I was tinkering around with it again today trying to figure it out. The first couple times I open and closed, it went very smoothly with no "pop". After that, each time I did it, it got progressively worse. So it's almost like something is loose allowing it to get more and more out of alignment each time I open. I guess I will just not use it for now and take it in next time I am near my dealer!
