I'm asking about a recently acquired 95 F350 crew powerstroke. I've read multiple conflicting information on this site and others about whether the obd2 plug is enabled in 95 trucks. Is there are serial number break where older is obd1 and newer is obd2? Perhaps a simple test is possible, short of buying a scanner and plugging it in to the obd2 port and just trying it?
If it has the EEC4 connector by the left hood hinge then most likely it isn't. It may have been reprogrammed though. I always reflashed the PCM's on those at all the ford dealers I worked at whether it needed it or not. They were much easier to diagnose that way. There should be a sticker somewhere on the radiator support or door jamb if a dealer did that. If you do have the eec4 connector then the only way to know if the obd2 dlc works is to try it. If it will get a datastream then it should be fully functional.
