Obd Ii

the reader at the store where I work is both OBDI and OBDII. It runs around $200 for it. The "cheap" OBDII code reader only reads some OBDII codes. I really like having an older ford truck because of the self test feature. It;s really nice. But you can get a ford OBDI reader for around $30 if you have to have a reader. They are available at any parts store.

thank's for the replys guys
i needed the scanner for my girlfriends 2002 camry. so i was thinking that i would get one that i could use on both the bronco and the camry, but the price for one that reads OBD II and OBD I was just alittle too much. so i got the local auto store to pull the codes for me. get the stealer to pull the codes for you and it runs about $50.
it would be nice to have one the tool box to use whenever i wanted.
thanks again.

Bimmerboy1989 is right on the cheaper OBD2 readers not reading all the codes. I've got one, works great most of the time, but I found that it wouldn't read transmission codes from my daughter's 96 Contour. The OD light was flashing, so I new there was a code, but the reader said it had no codes. Local garage had a Snap-on reader, got the code with no problem.
