What trans ?!?! SWAP help
Ok,,, I have a 79 F250 4x4 with the 300 I6 and NP435,,, I am looking at a friends 83 or 86 F250 Diesel 4x4 with 4 speed,,,, what tranny might this be, and what bell housing would bold up to the NP435 for the 6.9 swap, or what would be the best way to swap the 6.9 into my 79?!

If it's the original tranny on the diesel, it should be the t19. I believe all the Ford 4 speeds interchange.
But the diesel will have a hydraulic type bellhousing, so you will have to deal with putting the hydraulic clutch system in your 79.

Upon thinking about it,,, I guess I should have asked also,,, does the 6.9 share any bellhousing sizes/bolt patterns? I am trying to do some searching, as far as swapping into the 79,,, what it needs wiring wise and such.
