Ever since this morning, whenever I click on a thread link in the thread menua listings, I get the thread to open, but if I don't quickly click the red X twice to "stop" the system, I get forwarded out of the thread to a blank page.
Yeah... I just ran Spybot... found some things and immunized, but still get the same issue here in FTE. I'll try the others and reboot as well... maybe that's what's behind me not being able to post images, too.
Are you using IE or Firefox? Firefox starts acting weird for me if I have the program open too long. It refuses to mark any threads as read. The only way to fix is is is clear all the cookies and restart the browser. Then it works fine. Give that a try.
Reset IE. IE is the only one that gets the blank page to my knowledge (Computer Tech here)
make sure all your internet windows are closed. Go into the control panel, open "Internet Options" then click on the "Advanced" tab, click "Reset", check "Delete personal settings" then click "Close" and try again. See if you still get the blank page.
You may also want to download CCleaner, it's free and clean out your temp files and scan your registry for errors. If you clean the errors out of your registry be sure to reboot after you run the "Fix Errors".
Also if you ran Malwarebytes, Spybot and/or adaware and they found things and fixed them but you forgot to disable System Restore then you did not fix everything because most bugs use the system restore to keep from being removed.
To disable or disable system restore follow these instructions...
Windows XP...
Click Start, RIGHT CLICK "My Computer", click "Properties", click "System Restore" tab and put a check mark in the box to disable system restore. Click "OK" and "Yes"
Windows Vista and 7
Click the start menu globe, right click "Computer", click "Properties", Click "Advanced System Settings", click "System Protection" tab, click the "Configure" button, click the "Turn off system protection" radio button then click "OK"
NOTICE: On Windows XP I highly recommend disabling and leaving it disabled as system restore is about useless but on Vista and 7 it is actually useful and works pretty good so another option if resetting internet explorer and removing your spyware doesn't work you may not want to disable system restore on Windows Vista and 7 as you can restore files and the system registry to another point in time but first verify that you do or don't have anymore spyware or adware by running your scans again.
If you run your scan again and still see bugs then try a system restore then scan the system again. If you still see bugs then disable system restore and run the scans again to remove the bugs.
Keep in mind that when you disable system restore it removes ALL previous restore points.

EDIT: Haha, I said it and now its happening, doh!
Firefox has a memory leak, always has. I use firefox as well but if you leave it open to long it starts leaking and filling up ram, and filling it up fast. To make it stop you can open the task manager by hitting CTRL+ALT+Del, select task manager if it doesn't already come up, click the process tab and find firefox in the list, select it and click on end task. Once the process has stopped it is safe to open it up again.
But yea, it is a memory hungry fool at times. I've had mine us up 400MB of RAM and it'll just keep climbing until I kill it.
But yea, I'm a bit of a computer nerd though I don't know much about programming. Just how to setup networks, servers, workstations, troubleshoot all of the above and hardware just makes sense to me until you get down to the low lvl components.
For instance my desktop is as follows....
Intel i7 920 2.66Ghz Quad core with Hyper threading overclocked to 4.042Ghz
12GB of RAM
4 10K 146GB Wester Digital Raptors in a Raid0 (Striped)
2 NVidia 8800GT 512MB KO Video cards stock overclocked
1 NVidia GTS 450 1GB stock overclocked
PC Power and Cooling 1KW Power Supply
8 120mm case fans
1 200mm case fans (Yes it is a little noisy, but it's like my truck, more power more noise)
2 20 inch LCD Screens
2 22 inch LCD Screens
Power consumption at idle is about 450w (screens included) and 6 to 8 amps.
Built this beast 2 years ago and it still runs like new, can't imagine why

Good info here I didn't know this, thanks man I tend to learn somthing new every day.
Never heard of adobe reader causing the blank page but it is software programmed by human beings who are not perfect who create imperfect things so anything is possible.
Best thing to do is make sure all your software is up to date because many updates fix problems though some cause other problems.
Sometimes fixing software is like watching a cat chase it's tail.
I disabled the Windows retore point.
I reset IE.
I downloaded CCleaner.
I re-ran Malwarebytes (found nothing)
I re-ran AdAware (found several clicker issues, fixed all)
I ran CCleaner for both temp files and registry, (cleaned/fixed everything)
I re-booted the machine.
and now.... I STILL have the same problem. Nothing has changed, and it is only happening with FTE.
