LMAO--I am totally confused or you are. The RIGHT side of the engine IS the passenger side which is where cylinder #5 is. That's why I didn't understand why you were putting the RIGHT side valve cover on. Right and Left are determined by sitting in the drivers seat, not standing at the front of the truck looking into the engine compartment.

If you can get a bore scope, look at your cam lobe. Or measure the distance the tip of your pushrods travel on that cylinder compared to others. Piece of mind.

I have seen rockers that broke or spit a pushrod, the pushrod gets wedged and as the cam continues around the lobe can get wiped out. Usually only happens if people continue to drive with the miss.

I was wondering if that was what you were thinking. With as much as these motors cost i hope people shut them down before that happens. Seen a few small block chevys do that.

ya have seen the same. Ive not seen one that has just bent the push rod do it yet though.
