Thanks Guys, I appreciate all the positive remarks. I am searching for just the right set. They need to be 15x7 front and 15x8 rear either US Mags or Western mags. No big rush on the at the moment so I can take my time searching.

Buzz - Thanks for correcting me and tell your son thanks for protecting this country and our right to still own and drive our old trucks!

Arctic - Thanks for the consideration. Those wheels look classic on your uni, why would you want to change them? PM me if you are still considering selling.

Great looking truck, have half a mind to go 2 tone on mine when it gets a fresh coat. Have a set of the full moulding in the garage, but mine doesn't have mounting holes for it. Cringe at the thought of making them

Good to hear it went well and face it, these things are hella fun to drive and the thumbs up you get are priceless!

Thanks Bob, You're right these trucks are priceless and the fact that I was able to drive it 600 miles home throught the snow says even more. Talk about bonding with my truck! She didn't let me down and showed me just how well made she is. I have a 1973 Pinto wagon as my daily driver and you should see the thumbs up I get from that!

re: electrical

Looking good. If the truck's battery is five or more years old by now and you just got the truck a new battery would be a good investment. I would eliminate battery, eliminate alternator as possible causes while working my way into the cab. My guess is you'll probably solve the problem before you get to the column. Anyway good luck finding it.

Congrats on the new slick.

I can relate....I've been without a Slick since I sold the one I had in college.....in 1992. That's dern near 20 years, and I can't hardly stand waiting the remaining few days until I go pick up my new one.

Bdox- just do it! Go get a slick!

Shortwide- Congrats on your new truck. Make sure you get a thread going so we can all share in your excitement. That's half the fun of owning one! Plenty of pics as well.

Sure thing. I'll be loading my photos onto photobucket as soon as I take possession of the 66.

In the meantime, I think I'll start a thread with some photos of the 65 I had in college. It was a sweet little short/wide box with a 300/3 on the tree....custom cab, blue and white. A very nice little truck. I drove the wheels off of it, and eventually sold it to buy a new Toyota pickup (also a super little truck).

No you don't see them at all anymore. I have 2 of them and I am a member of a club for Pinto owners nationwide. I now have my 3 favorite Fords.
1973 Pinto
1966 F100
1959 Ranchero

On another note, I think I have found the wheels I was looking for. I will know more tomorrow. I'll keep you updated

So I just took a closer look at the photos of the wheels and to my dissapointment they are not a match set. Take a look at the positioning of the bolt circles 2 are perfect and match the other 2 are clocked incorrectly. Maybe I am just being picky but that's just how I feel about it.

Well, I tracked down the charging issue. Seems there is a loose or corroded wire that is attached to the ignition switch or the switch itself. When I move it around it connects or disconnects depending on how I move it. Should be able to pull the switch and replace it and the wire tomorrow.
