Well, been driving the old girl around for a week and a half now and have discovered a few areas that will require some attention. Since I am not new to old cars I was expecting this and had been preparing a "wish list" before I even saw the truck in person. The brakes seem to be functional but the pedal slowly fades if I am at a stop light to long, need to lift off the pedal and push down again. Also the brake lights don't work. Bulbs are fine cause I have turn indicators. I had already planned for a disc conversion which will require a different master cylinder so that should fix the fading pedal issue. Also gonna do a new wiring harness from EZ wiring that should fix the light issue. Once those are done I will tackle the next item on the list

I would start with bleeding the brakes, should stop the fading brake pedal. The brake light, there is 2 wires on the master cylinder, clean the connections and jump them togather and see if the lights come on.

replacement brake light switch should be available at local NAPA. 2 minute change out.
I had to do it to my uni-body.

Same truck?

Love the truck! I'm on my second as well. Someday I will post a pic of my first little sweetie....as soon as I can find it!
I will try to post a pic with this reply. If it doesn't make it, you really should go to my gallery. I think we have the same truck.. ....right down to the mirror brackets! Yours is the first I've seen with my mirrors. I can't even seem to find any in the parts catalogs that look like ours. I'm new to this and perhaps I will see some eventually.
It really made my day to see your pics.
Thanks
Mike

I was just looking at yours. Really love your truck! You still thinking about getting rid of the wheels?

So I have changed out the brakelight switch and still have no brakelights. Also have issues with the hazzard flashers. They only work with ignition on and the turn indicator lever in the left or right position. At this point I am just going to rewire the whole truck so I know everything works. I wired a few trucks I had from scratch before so I have an idea how to do it. I will post pics in a seperate thread for a "how to" on wireing.

I ordered my EZ Wiring 21 circuit Harness yesterday . I have read a lot of reviews on this particular harness and none of it bad. A lot of guys on here are using it and are very satisfied. If anyone wants to chime in with there experience, feel free to do so. Any advice will be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know where to get a quality molded carpet kit in the color teal? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the EZ wire kit was what I used for my 66. First one ever and it was very easy to do. Think there is 4 sections, front, rear, cab, gauges.

Got my EZ wiring harness today. Looks like a nice kit and the boss said it looks just like a Painless kit. Probably made by the same manufacturer in China. So, watch for a new thread on the process...
