Rebuilding 2100, Quick Question...
I have a severe lean condition when accellerating. Carb is now hesitating and/or backfiring whenever under acceleration, it is bad.
In the manual available here on the board, it shows just a ball under the "Nozzle Bar and Booster Venturi Assembly" (fig 27) On my carb, there is a small aluminum shaft there too, just above the ball. Is that correct?
As you rock the accelerator forward, the 'accelerator overtravel spring" (fig 29) is very slow to move for the first 1/8-1/4 inch or so. Once there it moves correctly. I can loosen the screw above the "Nozzle Bar and Booster Venturi Assembly" and gas pours out and the spring works fine.
My question: In the manual available here on the board, it shows just a ball under the Nozzle Bar and Booster Venturi Assembly (fig 27) On my carb, there is a small aluminum shaft there too. Is that correct? I am about to try and run the carb without the aluminum bar and see how it works.
I have blown out the "Nozzle Bar and Booster Venturi Assembly" and it seems free of trash, but i have to tel you that i do not see the normal vapor upon rocking the accelerator.
Any comments?
Is the "Nozzle Bar and Booster Venturi Assembly" so clogged i need to toss it and/or the carb?
Is the aluminum bar keeping the ball down so hard it starves the initial shot of gas from the the accelerator pump?
Will tossing the aluminum bar aboce the ball screw up the carb?
What is the function of the bar?
