yeah but if all they went into was 250 4x4's then we know where they started life. I know it doesn't really matter. It's just something else to tell the newbie highboy owner on the 73-79 forum.

That is if that's all they came in, we still arent 100% on that yet. Someone will probably confirm that they came in something else and the point will be moot anyway. lol

Oh, the 360's certainly went into more than just highboys during the 73-79 run.

I've been into hundreds, maybe a thousand FE's. Never seen a factory 390 with anything but a straight up set in it. If Ford built them I never seen it.

Seems like for 20 years I was turning 360's into 390's as fast as Fomoco could turn them out. Many still under warranty.

Edit: Don't slay me for that line. I didn't say Fomoco built them for that long, But that I did.

There never was any smog laws enforced around here. Still isn't.

Than came the 351M/400. What a smog dog that was. Wasn't much that could be done for them until the after market parts became available. And that took a long time.
