e3 sparkplugs

Has anyone used them in the 5.4 3 valve? I am not expecting any mpg or performance gains just looking for a one piece plug in the same price and performance range as the motorcraft.

I don't know of anyone on the site that have used E3 plugs in a 5.4-3v but E3 now list a plug for them. The part number is E3.70. If you use them let us know. I put the #7989 Champion plug in mine about 32,000 miles ago so I don't need any now. I will consider the E3's for a future install though.

The spark plug debate has been hashed out here numerous times.
At the end of the day you'll come back to Motorcraft plugs in a stock truck after trying all the other options out there. For reasons beyond my general knowledge the 5.4L does not seem to enjoy the Champion plugs or many other aftermarket plugs for that matter. This motor appears to run well on the Motorcraft plugs.
The two piece design, with a little anti-seize, should not give you any troubles after the plug change. It's just that first removal from the factory installed plugs that give problems.

Don't forget to get new boots as well, regardless of what plugs you get.
