My truck died on my way to church. I was going around a curve coasting then I noticed my it had died. It has a black cps about 6 months old and when I'm trying to crank it my tac does come up. Only thing odd is my oilpressure gauge doesn't move. Thought that was strange so I checked the oil level in the truck and it was full. Then I checked the level in the reservoir and it was about half full. I'm driving home to get my ae. Any tools that I should bring back with me? And any thoughts?
As rediculous as this might sound I do have a fuel pressure gauge mounted on my cowel and I never thought to look at it! Dope! But it didn't seem fuel related. Not overjoyed I'm still gonna check it. Thanks for the reminder.
So it died suddenly and quietly. What happened when you tried to restart? All dash lights normal including WTS light? Can you hear the fuel pump come on with the key, or see the pressure spike in the gauge? Any smoke out the tailpipe while cranking? Fuses good? Let us know what AE says.
wait a second, he said he had a black CPS. Isn't the new one Gray?
You can still get new black ones from a couple of site sponsors ( Diesel o rings and Riffraff) in my signature. These are the original cps that were recalled but seem to run better unless they fail..... They do have a limited supply. They must of bought a lot of them because last time I checked they still had them. That is probably what he is talking about.
