So far I'm going to keep them. But, like I mentioned to Shaun, I'm planning on going JY hopping this weekend and I know of a place with a butt load of those emblems. If I make it out there (it's one of the furthest on our list) I'll grab you a set as well if you'd like. Cost would be whatever they charge me and shipping.

Thx, can't seem to find a set locally. Lookin for the 80-81 variants so I can make my 84 a "non-Swiss cheese" 80. Got it all but the badges & those funky door panels with the slider locks.

I had another ttb related inquiry as well, I've heard of (buy never seen) an 8.8ttb front axle in a few late 95/96 F150's...I wonder if there's any truth to that?

Fabulous thread, thanks for compiling all this information!!
I'm going to be starting on a 95 F150 shortbed 2wd to 4x4 conversion with a TTB front end. Thanks for all the great information!!
Great to know that the Dana 50 stub shafts can be used with the 44!

I've also been toying with the idea of using a Dana 50 TTB housing and making it coil-sprung like the 44. Unfortunately, that means new wheels since the 44 uses 5 lugs where the 44HD and 50 use 8 lugs.

Sticky?

If no one else has mentioned it yet, this gets my vote for a sticky.

Drop a PM to ctubtis and see if he'll include this in the Tech sticky at the top.

I'm thinking although Skyjacker is more pricey I am going all the way with leafsprings (add a leaf) in the rear with an air bag assist. I'll use the compressor for the air bags to power my train horn and filling tires. Kill 3 birdsone stone haha. I guess I'll get her on the road and daily driver and then add some 35''s and sky jacker!

There are lots of other little bits & pieces about TTB in the archives and maybe even
some comprehensive threads like this one, but locating them and taking the time to
submit 'em is generally the hangup....

Ok I have one quick question for you all. How do you tell the difference between the Dana 44 and 50 TTB. I know that there is supposed to be a 44 or 50 cast into the housing but I have no idea where to find it. Can someone tell me where to look. Maybe post a photo of what too look for. Thnaks for the help.

The Dana 44 has 3" diameter hubs, and the Dana50 has 4" dismeter hubs.

You can notice a difference.

Heres my D44HD on my Diesel F250.

And heres a D50 on a 1991 F250 Diesel

I just joined this forum just to comment this.

One the first page you had some videos, the 5th video "Abusing TTB"

I actually know that guy. His name is Travis Kirby, lives in Lawrenceville GA. It was my college roomates roping parter. Small world.

I am actually looking at picking up a TTB 87 F250 Diesel for an offroad toy and found this forum/thread searching google.

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts and the 1980-86 F-series forum.

Small world this is! Funny you know the guy, because I think that is an AWESOME clip! These videos truly convinced me to run the TTB in my rig. It's a bunch of internet-hype that gives the TTB a bad reputation. I can't weat to beat the snot out of mine!

I was in the process of looking for a dana 60 for my 1996 f250 xl with ttb, after reading this i'm rethinking the swap. I might just try to find a
Skyjacker lift and keep the TTB on my truck. Everyone always talks so much crap about TTB i just had it in my head i needed to go with the solid dana 60.
