hey guys i found a truck off of craigslist its a 1997 4x4 crew cab 7.3 only 114000 miles on it and in great shape no problems or rust...the person said they have recently moved to canada and need to sell it they said the title is still in their US address. they said they want to go through the ebay buyers program so we would both be safe. they said they would pay to ship it to me and if i dont like it or it isnt as decrribed they will pay to ship back...they are only asking 4,700 i though that was a GREAT buy...but is it to good to be true like a scam? what do you guys think...will paypal protect me if i use it or this ebay buyers program? thanks guys
thats what i was thinking but when they said it will go through the ebay buyers protection program it made me feel safer but i still dont think i will do it just to risky i think
I once answered an ad like that. I gave them a shipping address in Centralia pa. I made them verify with shipper that driver could make the turn onto town. They said yes he could, he looked at map & checked with local police. Then we started arguing about payments, they gave me a western union number, & a fax number in Montana to fax reciept of payment to. I strung him along for a month with all kinds of excuses, ebay denying payment sent, Western Union refusing to ship payment, etc. I knew the whole thing was a scam once I got pay & ship instructions. Look at the link. Centralia Mine Fire, Centralia, Pennsylvania
i responded to and ad like this once. it was a 1999 ford ext. cab diesel 4x4. lady said previous buyer backed out but already paid for shipping. all i had to do was send her 4 grand and a shipping address through ebay and the truck would be delivered to my door. I told her that if the shipping was already paid, then go ahead and ship it to my house with a c.o.d., you know driver can refuse delivery unless payment is made. nope she insisted that ebay was safer and wanted me to wire her money. next day the ad was pulled from the site. go figure.
