Ok so I'm driving up to snowbird from slc. On the cornors I can fell the front end shake like the hubs are locked in. But I know they are not locked in. Anyone have advice on what that can be? Also going up that hill unloaded I'm getting ect's at 218 and eot's at 227. Now I know my oil cooler will spread about 13 on the freeway doing 70 unloaded. Its toast, but should I be getting ect's that high unloaded doing 45mph up a canyon road like that? On the way my tft sensor must have gone out due to the p0713 code. And the way the trans acted until the spike went away was horrible. I keep trying to convince myself this truck is worth the trouble but even doing regular maint and preventive maint I can't keep from throwing money at it. Aaarrrrggghhhh
Well I have been at work with nothing to do but think. I'm done with ford! I can't stand the fact I bought a diesel for longevity and its giving me this many problems. I've owned this truck for 8 months and I have put nearly $2k in it and the bill is growing! Ford should really be ashamed of their own products!
hang in there.
I feel your pain, but I also spent thousands on my previous Chevy
with 197k on it 2 years ago - before I traded it for my '05 Ex
in Oct '10, and just had the Bulletproof EGR & Oil coolers
installed for close to $3k on the hope this is a 1-time lifetime deal.
Brake pads are getting thin.
Sounds like I need sway bar link bushings too.
There are normal Maintenance needs on every vehicle.
Maybe your t-stat is bad and causing your temps to go so high?
ECT should be 190 when fully warmed up.
May or may not be oil cooler if t-stat isn't working right.
It's pretty easy to change ~$35 @ ford.
Update your sig so we know what vehicle/mileage you've got.

Hmm, you're not looking at the big picture. All cars need maintenance and all diesels need more.
The t-stat is 2 weeks old. Truck has 128k on it now. I'm just thinking if I had my travel trailer behind me going up that hill. I would have had the engine fan on the whole way is that normal for the 6.0?

Maintiance is easy and I'll do that all day long. But I'm talking about all the breakdowns. And failed parts all over the truck. That 2k I spent has zero maintance items in it. Maintance I won't bitch about trust me!

I know I did spent a lot getting mine up to par too. I also put three trannys in my K1500 (chevy) before I traded it in for my 04 and I'm super glad I did!

ok, so your ECT runs @ 190* once warmed up on hi-way @ 70mph?

w/o knowing "that hill" I assume you are NOT towing a trailer?
Was this BEFORE the new t-stat or AFTER?
This just sounds too high - unless you driving West from Denver on I-70.
Not long ago you posted that you needed new head gaskets and studs - so I guess you know you have some leakage? Did you ever get the work done? Lots of potential issues driving w/ known leaks in head gaskets.
