Sunday I decided to clean my EGR valve. I have to get the gasket kit since one of the O-rings is not 100%. Of course reinstalling it I somehow manage to strip out one of the dam holes for the hold down bolts. I Plan on putting a heli-coil in to take care of that problem.
Question is I now have this whistling sound and it seems to be coming from the area of the EGR valve, has anyone else ever had this happen from a bad gasket or not torquing the hold down bolts down enough? Just wondering, or should I start looking at the rubber boots on the boost side of the turbo also?
I just figured 1 + 1 = 2 so figured it is the EGR valve leaking at higher RPMs. It does seem to go up and down with Boost level, but I just find it odd that a boot decided to go at the same time.
Thanks for any insight
And yes, smack me for being an idiot on the stripping of the hole, I thought something was wrong but figured it was just me being **** since I started the dam bolt by hand!
