I tried to order a cab and chassis today and was told the only way to get the LCD productivity screen is to order the Lariat. Does anyone know if this is correct? Dealer said my best option would be to order a pickup and take the bed off. Do the new trucks still have the hump in the frame like the older models?
Hate to say it, but it looks like your dealer is correct on this one.
I just looked through the 2011 SD order guide which can be found HERE.
The 4.2" LCD productivity screen can only be had in XLT pickup models with the "XLT premium package." No such package exists for the chassis/cab trucks.
Unfortunately it can only be had with the Lariat trucks.
I was confused a little because on ford website you could build the truck and delete the bed with the options I wanted. I guess I will have to order the Lariat eventhough I don't want leather. The dealer snhould be calling me anytime with the price. Has anyone ordered a cab and chassis and then wished they would have added something else to it?

Get cloth covers. The black lariat interior is sweet though. I didn't want leather either, but the desire for a black interior overruled. I really wanted the black interior.
Lariat chassis cab here platinum with adobe interior. We love the leather so never thought about anything else. One thing on the new job 2, is the 6 gal def on the inside of the frame. Dealer said it was first time he had seen that. My upfitter and I are both happy about this, don't have to buy the def relocation kit now. Of course with XLT and dual tanks I think it's back outside again. Can't get dual tanks with Lariat. Boy they sure have some weird "Do's and Don'ts" when it comes to ordering these trucks. Anyhow, lots of room for the aluminum underbed boxes now. Goodluck with your choice. What are you going to do with your chassis cab? Nice to know there are a few of us CC owners.
I farm so it will spend plenty of time hooked to a 32' equipment trailer. I have my current CC outfitted with a 90 gal. RDS fuel tank, a Montezuma toolbox, and air compressor.
Hey bigblue have you got to tow the equipment trailer much. Just wondered how our 300 HP version works for you. Would have been nice to have that big 400 HP version but maybe the lower rated engine will be fine. Did you get 3.73 or 4.10?
Right now I am pulling it with a 07 350. I am trying to decide whether to go up to a 450 this time. I just had head gaskets put in mine and am worried about the longevity of it pulling heavy loads.
