I just dropped my 352 and 65 cab on a 79 F-150 4X4 chassis, that was a 400. The only problems I have sofar are, the engine mounts don't line up and I have to move the clutch crossarm bracket on the frame.
Not sure if anyone has done a similar swap, I ordered a pair of 73- 390 engine mounts, I'm hoping they will be the same.
Amazingly enough the cab mounts are identical and bolt right up.
I am not sure of any differences in the 2wd vr 4wd perches in the 73-79 chassis.John
4WD's don't have an engine crossmember to bolt the perches on. So it's kinda tough to bolt 2WD perches where the 4WD perches fit..on the inner frame rails.
1973/76 F250 360 4WD
The 4WD perches used on 1973/76 360's are the same for: 1966 F100 352 4WD / 1967 F100/250 352 4WD / 1968/72 F100/250 360 4WD.
The 4WD rubber mounts are the same: 1967 F100/350 352 ALL / 1968/76 F100/350 ALL.
I know what you're gonna say....so...a 390, 410 or 428 will also work with the 360 4WD perches.

Thanks Bill, I am so proud that you seem to be catching on.
well guys, you are right, so what I decided to do is just weld up a pair of adapters and use the standard 2wd mounts on the 4x4 perches, that shouldn't be much of a problem,
I did some floor welding and replaced the 2 front cab mount perches this weekend, I have to go back to work tonight to meet an engineer on a job I'm doing so I'll probably attack the engine mounts tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have this thing on 4 wheels soon.
I set the cab on the frame to line things up the other day, here's a pic, what do you think?
i done the same swap with a 66 body and a 78 302 frame. one thing you will have to do is try to align the bed with the cab because the 79 frames have humps over the rear wheels while the 65-66 beds need to mount on a flat surface. it is a pain in the *** to do that too because i ended up shimming up the bed and cab to make them even. just thought id give you a heads-up.

The cross members under the 73-79 beds are different sizes to make it all work. Anyone that does this will have to have an elevated skill level and should be able to roll with the punches to pull it off.
Well now, I may possibly have downed too many beers, but I don't like my options on making adapters, so I think I'm gonna try to order the 360 4wd perches tomorrow. And of-course more beer.

C6TZ6028D .. Right Engine Support aka Perch, Tower, Stand / Obsolete
Did ford in 77 redesign the F100 frames like the 250s and only have drillings for the mounts for the 302/351M400 engines and a seperate perch for the 300 I6?
