What is the big difference between lifting a F350 solid axle and a F250 with TTB? My friend just upgraded his lift on his F350 to 8" and gave me his old springs which were a 4" lift for his F350. It looks like I could use them on my F250 and I would just have to machine a new bracket to hold the front diffential down lower. I could probably make that bracket in about 1/2 hour if that is all that I would need. I hink these springs would give me more like a 5" to 6" lift. He also gave me a drop pitman arm and four Rancho shocks that seem like they would bolt right on. Everything looks like it would bolt right on and I am just wondering if the differential bracket is all that I would need. Thanks in advance.
I would recomend buying new brackets and u bolts..as for the shocks..jack one side of your frame up and fully extend the shock you are looking at putting on, and measure the differance between the two that will give you a somewhat accurate measurement of it.
The reason i say this about the brackets is for allignment purposes.
before i bought my new 03 f 250 psd i had a 00 f 350 psd. I had ordered the lift and everything for the 350 and all of a sudden decide d to trade it in for the new 6.0 250 i called my guy here in town that was gonna be lifting it and he said it would still be the same lift. Nothing was different is what he said. Hope this helps
toddnga2002 is way off (no offense) but both of his trucks are superduty and have straight front axles. Yours does not. You could make a new front drop brackets for the TTB axle ends, but would probablyt be better if you bought them. Skyjacker makes a 1 peice heavy duty one for F250's. The shocks and everything else should bolt right in. good luck!
Thanks for the advice guys. I got bored at work today and I made the brackets for the front. I'll probably put the lift on Saturday. If the brackets don't work I'll order the skyjacker. Thanks again.
