new project

my father in law has a 1966 fairlane 289 motor orginal.It has been it the family since it came from the factory.Its missing the gas tank, need radiator, and carb but im tryin to bring it out the woods and back to life but need to put my motor in my 60f250 first.

Cool! I dig the 66-67 Fairlanes.

It looks like it needs a lot of TLC. And a good wash! I can't really tell from the pictures but is it a hardtop or a post car? It kind of looks like a hardtop from the one interior shot but I can't tell for sure.

thanks i love this car... im lookin so foward to bringin her back to life. It has a hard top and i have plenty of tlc to give this will be another car i will have forever

Those hard tops have some nice lines. The roof line just flows on them.

That's a sweet project. How bad is the rust?

not bad at all there are no spot that the rust goes all the though.Some surface rust but not much .Been in the woods under a tree and kinda kept some rain off i guess.Once i can get my father in law to get the bobcat out so we can get it out ill take better pics

thanks guys

i cant wait to start rebuilding this car but i need to put my 360 in place of my 292 in my 1960 f250 after that i going to drive as is for a year or so. my project after the fairlane is a chevy 2 ton but im going to take it off and put on 65 chevy frame i wish it was a ford but we already own it and plenty of parts so it will be a lil cheaper

That fairlane is an incredible deal just to be sitting in your back woods. I used to have a 66 comet 2 door post car. Same as a fairlane just slightly different sheet metal. It was a small block ford powered drag car. What a seriously neat car. I still wish I had it.

I had a 66 Comet 2dr post ( sport coupe ) with a 289. But it was a rusty parts car. But it ran great. I pulled the 289 and swapped it into a 65 Mustang coupe. I miss some of the cars I use to own.

I tried to fix the pics if you can see them. Cried WWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE all the way home so happy
to have it out the woods. I just have to put 360 in 1960 first but i cant wait.
