You could try going straight to the horse's mouth, so to speak, by looking at their website, www.pertronix.com , or call their techline in California which is 1 (909) 547-9058. Then you can discuss your application with them and decide what's best. Good luck.
Don't bother with any of that calling Pertonix sh%t.
I'm running a 302 and they are super easy to install. Are you running the stock distributor...I'm guessing you are. Get the Pertronix "Ignitor", and while you're at it, think about getting a Pertronix "Flame Thrower" coil. The stock coil should be tested with an ohms meter...you need a min. of 1.5 to use the Ignitor...you should have that.
All you have to do is remove the points and condenser (3 screws) and then screw in the Ignitor (one screw)...it has a little nipple that sits into one of the old screw holes, so you can't do it wrong. Be sure to attach ground wire. Only trick is this...there is a collar (has magnets inside) that goes onto the distributor over the nut-shaped points lobes that needs to be level with the ignitor to work properly. All you do is buy a rubber garden hose washer at the hardware store and carefully slice it down the middle so it's half as thick and then slide it inside the collar before it goes onto the distributor...that'll bring it up to level most likely. Literally, it will take you 15 minutes...check your timing once your done and hit the road.
Which one do i need to get for my 302 and is it hard to put in?
I think I have a Dual Point w/vacuum advance...it has 2 vacuum hoses out of the distributor
Two vacuum lines does not constitute dual points. Pop the distributor cap open and see what you have inside, you will need to be into that anyway. I am guessing you only have 1 set of points. The dual points were a performance upgrade, I saw them mostly on the 429 motors..
