Getting Rid of the Rats nest of wires and hoses, What needs to stay?

So Vacuum is required for at least 4 things:

* power brake booster, Vacuum and Idle, Correct?
* dizzy vacuum advance, Vacuum Above Idle, Correct?
* dashboard vacuum controls. Vacuum at Idle, Correct?
* EVAP (charcoal canister) needs vacuum Above Idle, Correct?

If I go with an EGR Intake, that needs vacuum Above idle, Correct?
Vacuum at Idle, is that "ported" vacuum?

What else do I have to maintain vacuum to?
Thanks

You have it correct. And add cruise and vacuum to the auto trans if you have them.

Thanks Gary,
I have the Eddy 2121 non-EGR intake, Not installed yet, but thinking I should get the 3721 That has EGR capability, For now just block it off. Is this a waste?

Since I've had the truck, It has not been trustworthy (driveable) cause the P.O took out the 351 and installed a 302, yet the original harness is 351 with cut wires and plugged lines, Runs like absolute sh*&, with the carb dumping gas so bad, it wont even idle.
So I have the new Eddy 4-v and the non EGR 2121 intake. Wondering if I should get the 3721 Intake. your thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it and install what you have. I don't run EGR but do see the advantage if you are so inclined.

However, going with the EGR intake will allow options in the future. But, make sure you look to see what all is needed for that intake since some of Edelbrock's EGR intakes take a special plate below the carb. IOW, it isn't as straightforward to block off as others with an EGR port built into the intake.

I have the dash apart (for painting later)
I have no vacuum in the dash, good ol' cable controls.

There are advantages to a mechanical system. Just make sure you lube the cables well.
