Well, a few months ago I bought my first truck, a 2000 F250 Super Duty.
I'm certainly having fun with it!
I've been looking at back up cams, my insurance company informed me I can get a reduction in my premium with such a device.
But what I was thinking was that if I could find a back up cam system, It'd be sweet to get a system that covered the front and rear, since most of these systems are designed on the camera being attached at the license plate.
I haven't been able to find such a system scouring the internet, and was wondering if anyone has installed or has knowledge of any such system.
Not tough to do. You can choose to use a rear view mirror with a built in monitor or go with dash/windshield mount monitor as well. Most of the BOYO monitors and mirrors have reverse light auto sensing so when in reverse it will show the rear camera. You can then attach a front camera to the second video input as well. I have audiovox license plate cameras on both my plates. With my excursion I love being able to see over the hood and know exactly how much room is left in front of me.
I personally run a Kenwood indash monitor that displays my backup camera when in reverse and when I need the front camera I select Video 1 to display it.
