I bought cedar to build a bed frame. I was estimating $100-200, but when I went to pay at the register it was about 600. Well.. back to Del's 2/3rds rule I guess.
One of the jet pumps for the hot tub quit working a week or so ago. At first I hoped it was just a fluke, so I ignored it, then eventually threw the breaker to reboot it. I ignored it some more and eventually figured I better fix it. I pulled the side off of the hot tub to determine what was wrong with the pump. There was a screw on the end of the motor that I could place my screwdriver in and turn it freely, so I could tell it wasn't bound up. Insulation surrounded the pump, so it had to be disconnected to be examined. Two large pipes and one hose to disconnect it then 3 hard to reach bolts that hold it in place. Eventually I had it in my hands. I check the impellers and they look perfect, I check the motor and it looks good, so I open the starting capacitor box. The thing had blown up in the box, luckily it was in a contained box. I ordered three capacitors because they were cheap, to have spares in case it happens again. All in all a cheap fix, but almost as difficult as replacing the starter that's hidden behind an exhaust I hate plumbing work, so I just am hoping it doesn't have a tendency to leak once it's under pressure. Those should arrive today, and I am anxious to put water back in and use it.
Camper today- I really want to convert top raising and lowering to electric- it has a crank handle on the interior camper that is difficult for my slow fat butt to get to. I hit my head, an just want it electric. Justin suggested a small winch hooked to the crank shaft- but I thought "what if it chews it up?" so I wanted to find a piece called a sex coupler like we use for Vacuum lanes- it is a 2 rubber pieces that have fingers that mesh and will shear off if there is too much torque. Like a mechanical fuse if you will-- WARNING!!!- Do not search that in Amazon- I'm a worldly kinda guy but stuff came up that I didn't even know was possible! Ewwwww. any whooo anyone have any thoughts on the camper top??
Well - Help Garret with installing his engine- then went to the pork chili supper and helped with clean up- then got home and the shower drain split apart so when the daughter took a 45 min shower there was a little bit of water in downstairs basement (by little bit I mean Noah gathered animals 2x2 for a bit ) had tio clean up and fix-- Long Long Long day.
Busy weekend- removed side 8x8 ramps and toolbox from trailer, brakes work now too-- scrapped glue from behind wall covering in downstairs bathroom yuck--- ordered wire for trailer plug- I am tired and sore today
Dropped the van off at the mechanic. It needs a couple of rear wheel bearings. I hate spending money on it but it runs good and is still cheaper than car payments.
I disassembled the bed, sanded it down, blew it off and reassembled it in Sophia's room. It's all done except for a few modifications that I am going to run by her to see if she likes the idea or not.
