6.0 Liter Problems?
I just bought a F-350 XLT Sport PS 6.0L Crew Cab Long Box. Love the truck. Plenty of power and got 15.3 miles per gallon on the first tank of fuel! I've got 750 miles on it. Two days after having it, the power locks failed on it. Called the dealership and made an appointment for it. Before going to the dealership, I let the truck warm up 10 minutes. On the way there, I noticed the truck didn't have any power. At about 30 MPH, the engine would make loud air noise, like the turbo was over revving. The problem went away, but the engine does not have the snap it used to.
Any ideas on the power loss? No word from the dealership yet.

there has been a variety of problems with the new engine\tranny combo.....one of which has been with the variable pitch of the turbo and how it interfaces with the computer. read the thread with the 6.0 stop work in the title as there is alot of info in there.....fd

A local Ford salesman told me the other day that there is a lot of concern on the durabilty of the 6.0 PSD in the long run, he did not elaborate much beyond that ,but was quick to point out that aluminum heads on the D-MAX was a no-no. This is from a small town dealer, so the problems are widespread.

we have a chevy/dodge dealer on my other diesel site and he says the aluminum heads work great and that he has never had a duramax come back in for problems with them. I don't trust the heads either but time will tell. I know that there are a lot of greman diesle engines that have run the same heads for a long time now without any problems.
