That plume isn't my photo, but it looks more like a raging forest fire. We see that plume on the horizon in Oregon quite often.
Crater Lake is a great spot. Not only in the summer, but winter also. Many snowmobilers travel there for lunch and dinner. There is currently 92" of snow there.
You are correct about the fire. I put that pic up. That fire just behind my Highways mainterance camp a couple years ago..scary as hell. The Crater shot is just beautiful. I would love to come and see that in person sometime.
Oops, sorry about having the credit wrong. It is a great shot.
If you or anyone comes through Oregon and has the chance to see Crater Lake. They really need to stop by. There is a lot of camping available within 30 miles from it. On Diamond Lake and the Rogue river.
Wow is it a small world! We loved the area. Wouldn't mind a place on the lake up there to retire to.
We didn't stop and take any photos at the lake, but my wife took these as we drove back south. Nothing much to look at but thought you might want to see them anyway.
Ahh, fond memories. In the second picture, the one from Long Bridge back towards town facing ENE, just to the right of the "Red Roof Condos" in the center of the picture was the apartment that my grandmother lived in when I was young. I spent almost all of my summers there fishing off the docks. And I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure "The Sportsman," the charter boat in the first picture is the boat I worked on in high school when it was owned by a different captain and had a different name.
I have a few random pics.. ill start with some of aviation which im into
