FWIW, I got a reply back from EMS. I sent this right after this thread was first posted but haven't had time to post it:

"it crosses my mind at times but then we have never been sucessfull in truck parts like we have in cars, so we generally avoid it "
I'm posting this not to make EMS look bad, they have to do what they do to make money and if they feel it's not a good idea it's their decision. I just wanted to let board members know.

Here's an update. My cell phone just rung. Candi from Classic Haulers has a couple sets of those toe board patches for test fitting. She's sending them via UPS to me. I'm excited. I called a couple local hot rodder friends who live nearby to help test fit these things into my cab so that we can give an honest opinion. I'll be posting some pictures hopefully soon. Heck yeah!!! We be cookin' with gas now!!!

Oh don't worry. Just as soon as I get em I'll post some pics as soon as they come out of the box. This forum has a voice in our little hobby world about things like this. I'm sure they wouldn't have bothered if we didn't have a positive response from the members here.

I GOT EM!!

I'm shocked!!! The UPS man just walked into work here and handed me the toe boards that Candi sent me to try out. They just got shipped yesterday afternoon. I'm not around my truck. So if anybody has a good pic of the originals in a truck, maybe we could compare. They look really good to me. Very good quality metal too. What do y'all think? Let me know if you want any other views.

EDIT: Now why does it do that? Any other time, the pics would have been huge.

Doc, why are these pieces so little, are you working on a real truck or a match box truck, if it's a match box truck (I want one) ha ha

Hehe!! I'm working on one of them quarter midget things that looks like our trucks. I just noticed that, if they leave it like it is and somebody needs the full length "up the hill", they'll have to cut out the opening for the pedals if they go that high. I'm anxious to see how these things fit. Having to stay at work sucks!!

They look like decent panels but the biggest problem I see with them is there isn't a depression for the pedals to go through. It's not just a matter of cutting the proper hole, there is a stamped lip that the pedal plates and gaskets sit into. Once you cut the hole you'll have to form a fairly deep lip to accommodate these parts. There should be to recesses stamped in this area on both sides to duplicate the originals.

I imagine most of us needing this only really need the lower portion like we discussed before. I know I don't really need that whole length. The depression/hole where my pedals are is fine. But I know what you're talking about. There's a pretty deep lip all the way around that hole for those plates.

I agree they look great, as far as the depression area for the gas peddle I suppose you could cut the area out and use some panel pliers ( not sure of the correct name of the pliers I am talking about)to make the indentation

here are pics of the originals in mine to compare

Yeah yours is comparable to mine. I need about what I marked on your picture really on this side. The other side is a little worse.

Dang...thats about how mine looks...cept there is no more surface rust anymore. I wired it all down and painted it with Rustoleum. I don't particularly mind the pinholes...its not like my floor is going to fall apart. I figured once I got further along with my build I would fill em with weld. My transmission cover piece is dented to hell and I had to "modify" some of the screw holes to make it fit since the 4-speed sits up a good notch higher.

Oh,………………………….does this mean that if I had waited I would not have had to weld and grind for 40 days ……..and 40 nights?
