Cleaning Out Intercooler

While changing my faulty injectors I'm also adding a Racor CCV4500 and new Dieselsite intercooler boots among other things and thought it would be wise to clean any accumulated oil from inside the intercooler the best I could. I figured I'd use 130* water straight from my water heater and either Simple Green or Dawn dish washing detergent and flush until clean, clear and bubble free. Any thoughts or how to do it better or is it even necessary?

I would stick with dish soap, other cleaners are corrosive.

Actually it's not even necessary. It's designed to have oil in it to start with, but it will eventually "self clean".

you can always leave the hot side hooked up and unhook the cold side cac tube and start it up. if you have enugh oil in it, it may make a mess.
