The Evolution is fine. It may shift a little firm (if you have an automatic), but there won't be any additional power gains from any one of anybody's beloved "custom tuners".

I'm leery on the use of the Edge Evolution. We have seen quite a few guys that end up with PCM issues from using the Edge Evo and usually have to go to the dealer to get it reflashed or install a new PCM to fix the issue. Just know that there have been PCM issues spurred from the Evo.. Not a crazy amount of them, but some.
Cody, I realize that PHP has been around many Evo programmers, just stating the experiences I've seen on this forum.
Also, before you start towing with a chip on your truck, I would recommend getting a set of guages to monitor temps. Most of us run a boost guage, EGT guage(exhaust gas temp), and for auto transmissions, a trans temp guage. The boost guage is not really neccessary, but the EGT and trans temp is. If you have a manual trans, all you need is the EGT guage.
