Does anybody have any expierence with these scan tools? www.innova.com/the local NAPA has a sale paper with these on there and I was wondering if they might be OK for a D.I.Y. ?
thanks RB
Its not clear if I can scan my 97 with the base software or do I need the domestic enhances bundle? am I missing out on anything with my powerstroke if I didnt get the enhanced domestic bundle? I have a 2010 fusion also. does it need the domestic enhanced bundle? or can I get to work with just the total ford enhanced bundle? I wonder if this can reset the %(oil life) message on my fusion.
Clay i dont mean to steal business away from you, but to the op i have heard quite a few compliants about the AE and this thread convinced me and got me thinking about a snap-on mt2500. Heres a link that may give you some insight on the snap-on scanner, and a used one with all the right stuff can be had for about the same price or less than a new AE and do more. Just got a new tool for OBS Trucks! - PowerStrokeNation

You do understand they dont make that scan tool anymore. they dont repair them either. so it would be reasonable to conclude that they dont offer any cartridges for modern vehicles. not to mention someones used junk is still more $$$ than a new AE so I wouldnt worry about clay or AE losing business from your post. those are great tools for our trucks but I would still go with AE because its a modern product. it can be updated to cover modern vheicles. (like my fusion) as I understand it AE works for most peoples OBS 7.3s. i think i would still go with AE. actually I really want a scan gauge but cant seem to find the aeroforce one anywhere.

point taken, it was just another option, guess i shouldnt discredit the ae if i havent used it personally.

the snap on tool will probably be fine for you. if all you plan on using it for is your truck. my 97 is the oldest thing i own. we have a 2010 fusion and coming this spring i'll be shopping for another mustang. it would be real cool for me if i had one tool to work with all my vehicles. I would definitly buy your snap on tool in person so you can check it out and make sure it works, and will scan your truck if thats the way you go.
Yea all i would use it on would be my 95. But i understand that if you have anything newer than what 99? that an updateable AE is very ideal, plus usable on a lot of other cars. And yea if i do get a snap-on it will be tested inperson to assure it works, not getting it from ebay.
Back to the original question does anybody else have any expierience with the Innova scanners? If I understand the AE scanner that Clay posted about you need a laptop to use it and I do not have one, I need a scanner that will work on its own for my 96 PSD and 02 Tahoe.
thanks RB
