You guys with X, V, and W front springs...do you have to do anything with the panhard bar/track bar?

Sweet. I don't like to go to stealerships, so if I give in to buying these it will be online...a 2000 F250 4x4 7.3L PSD set of front springs are V codes, correct?

Not necessarily. The door tag (if the door is the original door for the truck), will tell you if the truck came with V codes, and that's assuming the owner didn't change the springs.

Personally speaking, I'd rather have new springs from the dealership. You never know how tired used springs will be.

I actually just meant that I would like to order them from an online oem parts source-a dealership somewhere or a wholesale parts distributor. This way I can shop around for a good price. The only issue is most of these places don't list part numbers online, which I assume includes the letter V in it somewhere.

If I chose to go with used springs I wouldn't take anybody's word about them. I would go to a pick-n-pull and find a diesel 4x4 f250 and take them off myself. I could get a peek at the odometer in the process. If junkyard springs were much cheaper I almost wouldn't care how many miles were on them. My stock springs have 270,000 miles on them, so I couldn't do much worse.

Ah, gotcha.

Nope, you assume incorrectly.

Here is the part number you'd need to give to your choice of Ford dealership you order from: Front V code springs: Part #2C3Z-5310-HA

If you decide to swap out the rear springs, here is the part number for the B codes: Rear B code springs: Part #3C3Z-5560-CB

If junkyard springs were much cheaper I almost wouldn't care how many miles were on them. My stock springs have 270,000 miles on them, so I couldn't do much worse.

They don't mean anything except for a way for Ford to catalog their parts. Like any place that has parts, it's just a part number, nothing more.

Based on your info, they have the same specs as X code springs, but you have to understand, whenever we talk about codes (V codes, W codes, X codes, B codes, A codes, etc), we're using the same codes designated by Ford for their springs...Ford OEM springs only.

Do all Ex have the same springs? I would think they would put heavier springs in the diesel trucks. Trying to get an idea what baseline is for mine.

stewart,
Those are the numbers for those springs. Where and how do I order X code springs? What do I tell a dealer I want?
