I own a 08 4x4 super cab short bed 6.4 with a 4 inch lift and 35 inch tires with dpf delete and edge evo race chip. i need more mpg's i have heard that with a gas truck if you remove the front drive shaft that it may give you 1 to 3 more mpg. anyone done this or any input on it. I dont use 4x4 so not having it wont be a problem. Im new to the diesels.

Any help would be great. thanks
First, welcome to FTE!
Removing the front driveshaft will not help anything. Whether it's on a diesel truck or a gas truck, the front driveshaft is simply along for the ride when you're in 2WD. It does NOT rotate unless you are in 4WD.
Removing it will help with nothing except getting stuck. If you're in doubt, climb under there with the truck in 2WD and try and rotate it. It will rotate easily, as it's not connected to anything in 2WD.
Interesting
My stock 6.4 is getting around 13.5 city, 15 to 16 on the highway, and 9 to 12 towing, depending on load and terrain.
That is with an additive and stock wheel and tire combo.
Once I lapse my warrantee I was thinking to look for some more mileage via the tuners and dpf deletes.
Yours already has that though. But you are pushing lots of air with the 4 inch raise.
I'm curious what other guys have recorded once they did a delete/tune
Sounds like senix nailed it.
Your delete and tune got you up there but the physics of your lift brought you back a little.
Doesn't mean you should lower it. They look awesome raised.
I would be happy to get what you're getting though.
A buddy of mine has a cc sb with dpf delete intake and a sct livewire he get 20-22 highway and averages 17-18. It's not lifted with stock tires
I haven't seen anyone ACTUALLY get 21-22 with a DPF delete and tune.
I think he is using the dash mpg gauge (which we call the Lie-o-Meter due to its inaccuracy)..
do you know if the number you quoted is hand calculated (actual miles driven over actual gals consumed )?
many seeing the same dash info are getting closer to 15-16actual..
Get a lighter shoe - I't easy to get 19 on the hiway hand calculated - I've done it with my 08 super cab short box all stock - set your cruise at 62 - put is a good CD a relax - $4.04 / gallon yesterday -Take note of the semis on the road - they have slowed down - conserve fuel - save money.
that don't seem right.. I have an 08 dually with 4.10 rear and get 14.5 empty, 12.5 not highway and 9 towing 7000lb enclosed car trailer, all at 70mph or above.
