Sorry to hear about the problem.
Needing an oil change will never set your check engine light. I'm surprised they didn't notice your low coolant level...
I'd guess you have a bad EGR cooler. This will leak coolant into your EGR system and foul your EGR valve over time. Is your truck still under warranty?
Are you under warranty? I'd be concerned that your non-OEM spec coolant may be blamed for the failure. I'd suggest draining and refilling with Ford Premium Gold coolant before taking it to the dealer.

So they got into your truck to move it to change the oil, noticed the check engine light and didn't do anything about it? They didn't take two seconds to hook up an OBD scanner and look? Didn't ask you about it?

Wow.
the guy changing your oil is in no way qualified to diag a check engine light on anything, If he was he would not be changing oil. Simply hooking up a scan tool doesnt really tell someone much. Its not as simple I have X code then it must be X problem. I wish life was that simple.
Now back to the OP. if you suspect its an egr cooler failed. do not start or drive the truck. Thats the fastist way to bend #8 rod.
