Black sluggish oil in Degas Bottle

Ok so I've replaced the degas bottle/ coolant flush/ and new 16 psi cab.

Very minor coolant puking out of the cap and when it's fully warmed I can see hot steam coming out of the cap. There's also noticable black oil or whatever that gunk is in the degas bottle. The truck seems to still run fine. Just coolant lightly puking out of the cap and black sluggish gunk in the bottle. Not sure if its oil...

What is the issue? and how much am I looking to spend?

your oil cooler popped DO NOT START OR DRIVE IT or end result would be catastropic failure and shortblock time

If you do it will only get worse and trust me thats a huge job getting that dog and pony show turned around lots of coolant flushing with simple green cleaner and maybe vc-9 towards the end

Its making a paste like substance in cooling system and the water pump dont pump Paste

IIRC its around 1500.00-1800.00 to change oil cooler and egr cooler and this might be on the low side of things. I changed all that went egr deleate though and was in it 1000.00 with parts and new fluids

Sorrey its not better news

It may have blown the Headgasket already with the puke

pull egr valve and hope its wet cuz the alternative might be HG

sounds like to me you have a oil cooler that has failed if it is oil, and i would fix it now since it is just in the degas bottle will be easy now to flush instead of down the road if it mixes with the coolant and makes a think goopy crap

if you do it yourself about 500 if a dealer or shop i would guess probably around 1500

I agree the sooner he takes care of it the easier it will flush out

But Its already contaminated the whole system

The coolant leaves Oil Cooler and goes to EGR Cooler so EGR Cooler is Plugged up with that junk too so IMO he needs a new egr cooler to unless he has a egr deleate

If the egr cooler hasnt failed yet its on Borrowed time

It may flush clean IDK Kinda high risk IMO

yes very true and at the price for a new egr cooler its better to fork out just a bit more cash and get a good delete or a bulletproof cooler
