I've got no level, running firestone destination M/T's in the 285/75-16 too, they rub full lock hitting a bump, but just on the inner fender, which has been zip tied back to prevent the noise. White's out on mine FYI
I bought BFGs because I have for many years gotten such good mileage and they were very durable when off road. I used three sets on an S10 Blazer and was averaging 60,000 miles on a set. I had them on a F150 4X4 and got 50,000 plus on them. I bought black-walls that was the only way they come on E range A/Ts. They look good on my black truck. To me they ride good and low noise so what's not to like.
i got firestone destination at for $700 a full set of 285's load range e and there nice in all weather so far had firestone steeltex and loved em. mine didn't rub and now i got a shackel leveling kit for the front and they dont rub at all
I will get the level kit (basically an added leaf) from local full service tire center out here. They do good work and did the extra leaf prior on my 1999 f350 and had no associated problems as compared to a later 6" lift I had!
On the old truck (now have a 03' 7.3) I used the BFG's and no complaints other than I thought the tread held a lot of mud and rocks compared to the Firestone Destination A/T's I had on my 08' Sierra.
So, I have this 03' now with some off brand tires on it when I recently purchased the truck. Looks like one of the sidewalls has a shifted steel belt or some kind of bump.
The brand is BCF ??? from the Tire Factory. Regular tread - 265's.
Anyway, the Firestones seemed good on the Sierra and was wondering about the performance on these heavier trucks in addition to addition to any possible rubbing issues if truck isn't leveled yet.
no preformance issues with all the firestones my family has used, our work van 3500 4x4 express wieghts 11000 pounds with just tools and truck no supplys and firestones last longest and handel really well everyday thats why i got em on my truck, but both our 4x4 vans got em also like my truck i personaly wont go under load range e though
Well that's good to hear. I will have to order them today off the Tire Rack. Hate spending the $$ but do not want those never heard of brand (most likely made in China) tires on my truck even through they have 10K miles on them!
