Your pictures are a bit confusing. The metal hoses in the first pic go from the air pump to the catalytic converter. Those are the "output" hoses. The muffler in the second pic is also part of the air pump system, but it's for the intake. So it connects to the air pump, but not to the metal lines you show in the first pic.
I cannot comment on what it will do to mileage if you disconect them, but if you plan to do so, you will need to remove the entire system as it's tied into the exhaust, and after a while you will have a major exhaust leak.
k thanks. the point is that its a pita to change my plugs cuz of those metal lines and hoses. it got frustrating cuz they have no space to move around to get at the plugs.
