Welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. We will do our best to get you the most accurate info we can.

Yep, its a nylon shim that centers the latch when the door closes. You can replace them. You will need a T-50 Torx driver to remove the striker bolts so you can slip the new spacers over them. Use a grease pencil to trace around the striker in the door jamb BEFORE you remove it though. This will allow you to see where the striker had been originally and make removing the marks to realign them easy. They are adjustable when they are loosened and if you don't get them back where they were before you pulled them the latches will still have issues even with the new shims.

You should be able to get them in the "HELP" section of most parts chain stores. I'm sure Ford would be happy to provide them at a cost far greater than their actual value. I'm not certain what Ford called them or what any manufacturer calls them to be honest.

However, don't sweat the fact that you have moved the strikers already. Once you have replaced the shims, leave the strikers just slightly loose (they should shift around a little). Borrow the wife or girlfriend's (one or the other not both) lipstick long enough to trace the striker in its current location. Shut the doors as gently as possible but still getting them fully latched. Open the doors and have a look at the lipstick on the door jamb. If the striker moves once you open the door there will be a void in the lipstick showing you where the striker had been when the door was shut. The lipstick should be sticky enough to keep the strikers in place for a short while after opening the doors. Move them to that location, tighten them down and clean up the lipstick unless you want to answer a ton of questions about why there is lipstick on the seat of your pants because you brushed the striker getting in the truck.

The Help! package has four bushings...two for the doors and two different ones for the tailgate.

Just replaced all the striker bushings on my truck a few weeks ago for the exact problem. After adjusting the strikers, the doors shut like new.

$4 from the local parts place.
