Well the new pump comes with new fittings which are way different than the old ones and once I figured out how the quick disconnect works, wow they are easy. On my drive home last night I noticed on stock I do notice a difference on the higher end of the rpm range but that's about it. With my tunes on I notice a big difference but when I time myself going from 0-80 they haven't changed. Guess its in my head.
Can't wait to see what IPR/ICP numbers are now. Sorry to hear it doesn't sound like ya found the smoking gun.
Swamps had me test for HPO 'aeration' one time by revving engine to 3k rpm and holding it there. If there was a problem, after a couple minutes more throttle would be needed to stay at RPM, and then more and more until WOT and engine eventually stalls. The 'test' wasn't as bad as it sounds - but I didn't have a problem. Fwiw, I asked Jonathon how to fix it if that was a problem and he said 'you don't wanna know'.
Yea I'm thinking my next investment needs to be an AE! And Jason I saw you caught that I don't belive that was my problem but it only leaves one other thing or should I say 8 other things. I'm wondering if I should leave it like this till rre to get some on hands advice. Maybe clay could bring a set of stage ones with him as a present for me! I'd love to dyno the truck how it runs now and be able to compare it to another truck set up close to the same then install the injectors and see the difference!
Have you talked to Jody? I told ya my BTS tunes have a similar drop in ICP compared to 'stock' - but the power is still strong to redline.
Meanwhile, it seems plausible worn injectors would be thirstier for oil. Other than MPG's and sotp's power do you have any other complaints? How much fuel will ya burn waiting until RRE? I'd expect 15mpg average unloaded for your truck, maybe a 'lil less with big tires... If its possible you could save $1000 in fuel - then I'd do it NOW. Stage II's btw!!
If that Ultragauge thingy displays ICP, IPR duty cycle as well as EOT, etc - for $59 thats a great tool. I got a bluetooth dongle OBDII thingy and downloaded Torque app for my phone - ($30 total) but I haven't had a chance to mess with it...
Well I'm not sure about the fuel economy with the new pump but with as little change as I've felt in the way it runs I doubt the milage will change. If I baby the crap out ouf it I may make 11 1/2 but it's usually 10 1/2 consistently. How much does your truck weigh Jason? Mine weighs around 8,500. As for any other complaints I had the cold start issue. I did find one gp bad but I wouldn't think that would make my truck that hard to start.

See this is another thing I don't get, when you said if there was a prob more throttle would be needed to maintain the rpm's. All the other trucks I have driven seem like when crusing you only use a very little bit of the pedal but on mine in stock I seem like I always have my foot in it just to maintain speed. Maybe this is related.

I know you said you found on GP bad, how did the GPR check out?
My truck usually weighs closer to 10k lbs. I have 33" tall tires and 4.10 gears. I cannot accurately monitor MPG's since I don't measure the gallons of fuel I put in my truck - but I average around 10mpg towing (up to 22k GCW) and about 15mpg driving the speed limit.
Oh yeah, the buzz test as well as injector resistance are not testing what could/would be wrong with your truck. These merely test the electrical function of the injectors. Rotational Velocity could be an indication of a weak injector or the watch the oil squirt test.
I think yer right, there's no excuse for your MPG's in a 'stock' truck. Can't wait to find out why!
Anxious to see the ICP numbers now as well... Lowest mileage I remember getting (empty) is around 13.5. And that is after a lot of city driving and hammering it with the new sticks. I generally get in the 17 range these days, with mixed city/highway, occasional long idles, and hammering it sometimes. I don't hammer it much anymore as I can feel the trans starting to slip. Saving for that BTS......
I had no idea how much fuel my old trans was saving me......... Don't expect to see THOSE mpg numbers for awhile after seeing Brian's crew!!!
Well after doing some timed runs from 0-80 my times have definatley not improved and if anything they have actually gotten a sec or two slower! Before I blame it on the pump I need to get it hooked to and AE. But I don't see how thy could actually get worse unless the extra pressure (if any) would cause my injectors to be affected. If the pressure is good and improved on the hot tunes I'll need advice on injectors!! Probly stage 2's if I can use my stock turbo.
