Is there anything i can do to keep my front tank from foaming over whenever i fill it. The pipe goes down 45 deg and then goes flat. IS there anything that will help it flow better so i dont waste so much diesel?
it sounds like your filler is being smashed. It shouldn't be that way. The front tank is not hard to drop at all. I have done it several times when I ran WVO. I had to put in a new tank recently also (another story PM me if you want details). But two bolts, one hose clamp at the tank, and the vent tube and the tank will come down so you can unscrew the feed tube. Then you can look more closely at the filler tube and find out why you're having the foaming problem. Ten minutes and you should have that tank out. I believe the bolts are 14 or 15 mm. There should be a tube inside the rubber hose that is longer than the rubber on also. The rubber one is to allow air to escape and not have that foaming issue. I hope this helps.
Slower is faster when pumping diesel fuel. Every diesel I've ever had will foam up once the tank has two or three gallons or so to go until its full. Just find the super slow spot on the nozzle through trial and error and top off. If a pump is turned up high like a gasoline pump I always complain until they slow it down.
Is your front tank harder to fill than the rear? If so there may be a problem. If not I'd say its normal.
