i have an 84 f250 and looking to do an shackle flip. would i be able to just to grind the rivits off and change the passenger side to the drivers and vise versa and drill holes in the frame and bolt it up or is it harder then that?
You can but you'll only gain about 2 inches of lift that way. You can take a set of hangers for the front of the rear leafs and hang the shackle sown for more lift pretty cheap.
like joe said, if you want a little more lift than the homebrew setup will get you there are aftermarket options. they are all in the 4-5'' range depending on mounting location. this place also sells a stout kit:Universal Shackle Flip Kit [FORDFLIP] - $195.00 and so does this guy, but he hasn't listed them on the site yet, but they look like the route i'll end up going because his are cheaper, and they look pretty damn good to me. e-mail the guy if you are interested in his. he does great fab work, but he's not really good on updating his site: HeftyFabWorks - Custom bumpers, rock sliders and more for your truck or vehicle
